Abstract

Nilai harga diri yang tinggi merupakan hal penting yang perlu dimiliki oleh setiap profesional, termasuk guru. Dalam kenyatannya, tugas guru bukan hanya mengajar tetapi juga menginovasi, memotivasi dan memimpin siswa serta organisasi sekolah. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat korelasi harga diri guru terhadap keterampilan kepemimpinan yang dimiliki. Sebanyak 30 guru sekolah khusus di Provinsi Banten telah berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini dengan mengisi tiga set kuesioner, yaitu demografi partisipan, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale dan Leadership Skills Questionnaire. Data diolah menggunakan SPSS. Hasil menunjukkan prediktor jenis kelamin, usia dan pengalaman kerja berkorelasi positif terhadap tingkat kepercyaan diri dan keterampilan kepimpinan guru. Tingkat harga diri guru cenderung meningkat seiring bertambahnya usia dan tidak ditemukan adanya penurunan pada usia 51 tahun ke atas. Lebih lanjut, tingkat harga diri guru adalah positif signifikan dan cukup berkorelasi terhadap keterampilan kepemimpinan dengan besaran korelasi koefisein yaitu .361.
